The Young Democrats of America has come a long way. We have built an army of hundreds of thousands of young Democratic activists representing states and territories across the nation dedicated to creating a bloc of young voters for Democrats. We have emerged as an eminent leader of the Young Voter Revolution.

We should be proud, but we must not rest. There are many in the Democratic community who continue to underestimate the power of the youth vote. There are many who still do not understand that our generation can swing elections. There are many haven’t figured out how crucial our generation will be in 2008. But I know that improving our relationships with Democratic leaders can bring us to a new level, and that is why I am running for Democratic National Committee Woman for the Young Democrats of America.

I am committed to using my experience as a former local chapter president, a state chapter president and a political professional to make sure YDA continues to reach new heights. As your representative on the Democratic National Committee and as a Board Member of the YDA I will make sure:

  • Your hardwork at the local level is recognized by the DNC and State Parties through communication with the DNC and our state and local chapters.
  • Young people gain more representation on the DNC and at the Denver 2008 Convention through continuing our efforts to lobby the DNC and State Parties to abide by the DNC Charter and have youth participation goals, but also by making sure our members have the ability to run for delegate positions.
  • Bring resources to your state through partnerships with YDA and State Parties through YDA's Chapter Building and Campaign Programs, which I have had the fortune of implementing in Californnia.

I am also committed to making sure YDA continues to have excellent representation from all of its leaders. That’s why I am proud that I share a vision with David Hardt, candidate for YDA President of making sure YDA has a team of leaders dedicated to serving our members.
